Warranty and Installation

Exact Match Vents: Warranty & Installation Guidelines

Thank you for selecting Exact Match Vents! We take pride in crafting frameless, flush-mount, exact-match vents designed for seamless aesthetic integration and optimal performance. To assist you in achieving ideal results, we have provided these straightforward guidelines covering installation, care, and warranty details.

Built for Stability & Accessibility

We go the extra mile to ensure durability. By integrating a 1/2-inch layer of quality birch plywood into our construction, we create a product that is strong and stable.

Designed for convenience, your vent is intended to be a floating installation to allow easy access to the ventilation system below—it should never be glued or adhered directly to the floor. While the end user may choose to install a frame at the time of installation, you must ensure the vent has ample space to move freely.

Easy Installation & Spacing

To keep your vents looking and working their best, just follow this quick installation tip:

  • Give it room to breathe: Installers must leave about 1/32nd of an inch (about the thickness of a standard plastic credit card) of clearance on all sides of the vent. This ensures the material has the necessary space for natural expansion and contraction.

Moisture & Climate Care

Because environments vary—especially in areas prone to high moisture—we recommend a simple preventative step:

  • Seal the back: For best results in wet or humid climates, or with HVAC systems using Humidifiers, have the installer or end-user apply a clear wax or polyurethane to the back of the vent prior to installation.

Warranty & Limitations of Liability

We stand firmly behind our vents. Our process aims to stabilize the floor material used to best ensure a quality lasting product.

  • Our Guarantee: We fully guarantee our workmanship and protect against manufacturing defects in relation to the actual vent manufacturing.

Important Limitations:

Because we create our custom vents using materials and flooring sourced from various third-party manufacturers, we cannot control or guarantee the underlying quality, manufacturing techniques, or performance of those third-party materials. Different flooring products react uniquely to their surroundings. Natural materials are inherently reactive to environmental changes, we cannot guarantee zero movement under all conditions. Consequently, we are not responsible for environmental conditions, the natural reactivity of materials, delamination or buckling of flooring material used, improper gluing or adhering, or installations that do not meet the required 1/32nd inch spacing specifications or installations that fail to follow flooring manufacturer installation specs.
